Multiply the top parts together (numerators): 4 * 1 = 4
Multiply the bottom parts together (denominators): 9 * 8 = 72
Put the top part (4) over the bottom part (72): 4/72
Then, since four goes into 72 eighteen times, and four goes into itself once, you can reduce the fraction down to:
1/18
