One major way government regulations have had an impact on child labor was the in 1938 when Congress passed the Fair Labor Standards Act, which fixed the minimum age to work to 16 years old during school hours, 14 for certain after school jobs, and 18 for dangerous jobs. There have been many attempts prior to 1938 to end child labor but congress failed to ratify them on three separate occasions.

Hope this helps and have a wonderful day!
