Step-by-step explanation:

your going to distribute the 2 to the x and the four your equation will then become (2x-8)=-5 you would then do the opposite of subtraction which is add so add +8 to the -8 and that cancels it out then you would +8 to the -5 and get 2x=3 then I'm confused from there hope that helps kinda
