multiply (*) by 3 and(**) by 2    you have : 9x-6y = -27

                                                                  8x+6y =44

add this equations : 17x = 17    so : x=1

put this value in : 8x+6y=44

  8(1)+6y=44

6y=36

y=6

one solution : (1 ; 6)
