X - green marbles
X + 3 - blue marbles
Total = 23

X + X + 3 = 23
2X + 3 = 23
2X = 23 - 3
2X = 20
X = 10

Jerry has 10 green marbles. He also has 13 blue Marbles. To give a total of 23.
