If 17 is at least 5 more than 3 times x than that means 17 is greater than 5 more than 3 times x which is why you would use > instead of < and the equation for 5more than 3 times x would be 5+3x because 5 more means addition and 3 times x means multiplication but since x is a variable you don’t need the multiplication symbol making it 3x and you need to add five so 5+3x or 3x+5 and then just combine it all which leaves you with 17>5+3x
